Tameika Oak
Tameika is co-founder of the Mystic Roots Conference, and it’s
sponsor Spirits of the Earth Festival. She is web-mistress, graphic designer,
registration coordinator, program designer, treasurer, wife, friend,
and wine faery! You will typically see Tameika running around in something
that glitters or jingles ensuring that everything is running smoothly,
and everyone is having a Fantabulous time! She encourages everyone to
come and say “hey” or introduce yourself if your new.
Fox Oak
Is the other half of the Mystic Roots conference, and it’s sponsor
Spirits of the Earth Festival. In addition to heading up our security
team, finding new talent, and being our master publicist he is also our
marketing man extraordinaire! Befitting of his name, he is as quick and
sly as a Fox spreading news like lightening to inform the community of
all the incredible events we and our amazing staff offer. Not to mention
his ability to offer strength & stability to the team. During the
daylight, Fox is busying himself with odd tasks to ensure everything
runs according to schedule (aka Tameika’s Huney Do List). In the
evening he lets his tail out, picks up his drum and starts to build a
sacred atmosphere, that reaches beyond space and time.
Diana
Diana is Tameika’s sister... Diana is still searching for the
path that fits perfectly with her, but she loves meeting new people from
all walks of life. Once she gains her focus, she has the ability to accomplish
the impossible. One of her greatest strengths is her ability to “go
with the flow”. Diana will also be wandering around with her camera,
to capture all the wonderful moments at Mystic Roots. You will meet Diana
at the Registration table, with a big shining smile, and a presence so
full of bubbly energy that you’ll be saying “I want, whatever
she is having”.
Mike
Mike (Sheepdog) joined the security team at Spirits of the Earth festival
in 2008. Unfortunately he had to take a year off due to medical restrictions...however
he is definitely ready to jump back in the saddle. Now Mike will be co-head
of our security team at Mystic Roots. Usually you will find Mike smiling,
laughing, and having a grand time…that is unless you are doing
something you shouldn’t be. Let’s all focus on keeping the
sheepdog happy!
MysticOak
MysticOak has been on board with the Spirits of the Earth for the last
7yrs. Being a registered nurse she heads up our first aid department,
originally she join our maintenance team (aka toilet paper provider),
and currently runs our Registration. MysticOak was eager to jump on board
with the Mystic Roots conference as soon as she heard she didn’t
have to stock the bathrooms. MysticOak joined the Mhorag Circle in 2009,
and continues to learn, and offer her knowledge and support. If you see
flashes coming from all angles, you will probably find it’s MysticOak
hiding behind the lens….so just spin around and strike a pose!
Gus
We first met Gus at the Spirits of the Earth Festival 2004, he pulled
in as the sun was beginning to rise over the horizon opening day. Ever
since then Gus holds a special place in our hearts. Gus enthusiastically
jumped on board with Mystic Roots Conference. He has join edus on a
mission to unite south-western Ontario communities. Our very own “Uncle
Money Bags” has been a saving grace as our Vendor coordinator
for both SOTEF and MRC. Gus not only promotes Ontario’s events,
but helps local artisans and vendors find venues to sell their wares.
You may just find our “Naughty Gnome” skipping around with
a t-shirt promoting a service, only he can get away with ;O)
Tracy McCormick
Tracy energetically joined our team at the Spirits of the Earth Festival
last yearas Lady Kiki, our kitchen witch. So naturally she was just as
eager to jump on board with the Mystic Roots Conference when we asked
if she would like to join the team working Registration...maybe even
more excited when she found out that someone else does the cooking (hehehe).
But seriously this girl never ceases to amaze me...whether it’s
with her constant smile, or creative spark she can light up any room.
This girl brings us all back to a time of no stresses...its all about
good friends and good times….and she makes sure this happens by
dropping her epic one-liners that will have you giggling for the rest
of the day. Since Tracy won’t be in the Kitchen at MRC...perhaps
we can find another reason to call her “Lady Kiki”….hmmm
could it involve a brass pole?
